AUCH Battle vol. 3
Sixteen slots, one versus one, all styles welcome in the same bracket. Two rooms open: the big one for the battle, the small one for the people who came to dance rather than compete. Three judges, one of them loud, and the crowd calls the final.
Registration
Sixteen slots, first come. Four are held back until the night itself so somebody who decided at 18:30 can still dance. Registration is free for anyone on a monthly card.
Music
DJ Sasha Nur plays the whole night from vinyl and refuses requests with real conviction. Between rounds the floor is open.
The room
Capacity 180 standing. Step-free access, seated area kept clear at the side, ear plugs in a bowl by the door. The bar takes Twint and cash.
Everything else coming up
Workshops fill in a day or two. The jam never does, because it is free and there is always room.

Afrodance Weekend with Christian Nji
Two afternoons: Afro Fit on Saturday, amapiano choreography on Sunday, taught by Christian, who grew up dancing this in Douala and teaches it without softening it for Zürich. Open to complete beginners, and roughly half the room usually is.

Last Friday of every month, 21:00 until the neighbours have a point. No teacher, no structure, no entry fee. Bring a track on your phone and it will get played.

Dance Film Lab with bila.film
One day on what a camera does to a moving body: framing, the lens as a second dancer, and how to shoot a phrase so it survives the edit. Anya brings the studio's actual gear. You leave with a thirty-second piece you cut yourself.

Open Stage vol. 2
Anyone from the studio can put five minutes on the stage: a phrase from class, a solo you have not finished, a duet made last week. The audience is instructed in advance to be generous, and complies.

Contemporary Intensive: falling well
A full Saturday on floorwork with a guest teacher from Tanzhaus. Getting down, getting up, and the part in between that everyone skips. Bruise-adjacent, extremely satisfying.

AUCH Camp, Ticino
A week in a converted grotto above Lago Maggiore. Two classes a day, one long afternoon of nothing, a shared kitchen and a river that is much colder than it looks. Twenty-eight people, six teachers, one van.

Photographs from the last two years by the people who were in the room. Full sets go up on Instagram within a week.
Put your own thing in our room
Both rooms are for hire outside class hours: rehearsals, castings, shoots, workshops, birthdays that involve a sound system. Sprung floor, mirrors on one wall only, blackout blinds, a decent PA, and a kitchen with an actual kettle.
Independent artists and collectives pay the reduced rate without having to make a case for it. Ask.
